In many media articles, blogs and question and answer pages, I see written frequently - 'it's YOUR day', 'do what YOU want', and I am often left wondering where the extended family fits in. What about Mum's dreams from the day her little girl was born, of the wedding she would help her daughter plan. What about Dad's wish to walk her proudly down the aisle in front of his friends. Are we happy to throw generations of family tradition away, spend enormous amounts of money to have the 'big party', but in doing so, disappoint family members or break our parent's hearts.
The above link will take you to an interesting article about this subject.
I would love to know how you feel about it.
Have you made wedding planning decisions that you later regretted?
Have you compromised on small things to enable others to have something done their way? How did it make you feel?
